Midland Centre     Welcome ...

Download the 2021 Midlands Centre Calendar    HERE

Our history of Motorsport and Social events offers support and meetings throughout the eight Midlands counties and, together with our various local MG groups, we look forward to providing continued gatherings within the Midlands area. For details of your local Natter, please click on the 'Natters' link above.

A prime example of the events we organise is our annual Welsh Rallye - see selected photos alongside.

This regularly attracts more than 40 cars, their drivers and passengers for a 150-mile drive around the quiet country roads of Wales, all encompassed within a 2-night stay at a quality hotel.

Details of this and other events can be found on the 'Events' page - again, just click on the link above.

Midland Centre     About 2021...
About 2021... Cont'd...
The Midland Centre firmly believe that its time to consider some new ideas for getting the MG's meeting again in our region during the Spring and Summer in 2021.

In total, the Midland Centre are planning 14 specific events during the year to enable Midland Centre Members to have a Run out in their MG's and give them the opportunity to meet fellow owners and enjoy some real MG Midland Fellowship. We would really like as many of you to be involved with them, so take this opportunity to add them into your personal diary now.

For more information, continued updates and the very latest news on them all please follow the link to the 'Events' page throughout the year. In addition a full list of the forthcoming two months events will be listed within the Midlands Centre page in all monthly Safety Fast Magazines during 2021.
NEW...  MGCC Spring Sprint - Curborough 11th April
NEW...  Triumph & MG Weekend 13-15 August ...
With the Competitors and Officials being greeted at the Circuit by the Snow Flurries, it was a real reminder of the April event some years ago at the same venue and proof that Spring can still be a little unpredictable. However within a short time, the record number of 83 drivers were quickly setting out the cars in the pre-arranged spaces in readiness to get back on track, for the first time in 2021, and many for the first time in over a year.

The Centre were delighted with the number of MG entrants with half the entries being this Marque.

All were keen to get to the start lines, and didn't require much calling this time.

The event was being staged on the Curborough 'One lapper' Circuit, again a first for some, and first in a long time for others, but were all keen to try to have a two session practice, followed by a three session timed lap.

This new event marks a historic collaboration between Triumph clubs and the MG Car Club to create the Triumph and MG Weekend at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern 13 15 August 2021.

"The Midlands Centre is thrilled to have this great event within our area, probably the first time ever we have played host to such a prestigious MGCC event. Within hours of the news breaking, your Centre committee had started work on how we can add to the attractions being offered to make the gathering an historic occasion. Already we are planning a run through the delightful surrounding countryside to add to the experience of a joyful weekend.

We welcome joining our friends from the Triumph clubs but advise them that they will witness the might of the MG marque that will dwarf all. But only if you make a date to join us".

Roger King - Chairman MGCC Midland Centre

  • Saturday 5th June 2021 'NAVISCAT'

This style of event involves plotting onto an Ordnance Survey 1:50000 scale map twenty or twenty-four clue-point locations and then selecting a maximum of threequarters of them to visit. They will likely be within a radius of eight to ten miles of the start and the plotting will require an understanding of basic navigation techniques such as grid references, tulip diagrams, map symbols, spot heights or herringbone diagrams.

Are your personal details correct at Kimber House?

An increasing amount of correspondence and general communication in business is being conducted using websites and electronic mail, which does make communication easier, faster and  cheaper for clubs like the MGCC to interact with its members.

However, this can only be successful if members' details at Kimber House are accurate and up-to-date. To ensure that you receive all of the latest information, the Committee recommend all Midland Centre members check their own personal details for accuracy with Kimber House.
Members can now make amendments on the MG Car Club Website.
